Back to Nature (August 24, 2022)

Sunflower reaching towards the sun

I know what I want to be when I grow up

Daises soaking up the raindrops

I’ve got a plan to grow

tall, never small,

Bigger and Brighter than before

It starts with our habits

plastic holders litter the gridlines

then our mode of transportation

metal birds burning up the skylines

keeping around the old ways, wasting paper

I can’t take these headlines

This is all on us, history repeats

Too long, we the ones full of bad decisions

on climate change and nature

Old men stuck in their ways

They hold all the power for change

We must take a stand

Everyone should do their part

It’s really not that hard to start

We all need space to grow

troubled streams or the stillest waters

you have to choose to push through

that extra mile

Big floating rock covered in dirt

Though she’s mighty, she needs our help

We’ve got to do our part

mimick her natural reactions

Living in harmony, reduce that carbon

spend more time in the wonders of her beauty

Now is our time to take action

There’s no more room for distractions

Leaving something behind for the next generation

Wildflowers, birds flying high

We all deserve a chance to see her thrive

Mother Earth is all we have
